Metallic Surfaces and Light Play in a Scenic Tasting Pavilion

Project in-detail

A skylight reveals an intimate cellar beneath a Pavilion defined by metallic surfaces and dynamic light, creating an engaging environment for wine tasting amidst panoramic vineyard views.
5 key facts about this project
01
Pavilion features light, thin metallic surfaces that interact with natural light.
02
Cellar is visible only through the skylight, creating a sense of mystery.
03

04
Design emphasizes the contrast between social engagement and intimate reflection.
05
The architecture enhances the sensory experience of wine tasting.

The design consists of two distinct areas: the Pavilion and the Cellar, set within a landscape of extensive vineyards. The aim is to create spaces that facilitate the experience of wine tasting while promoting a strong connection with nature. The overall concept focuses on blending open and private spaces, encouraging social interaction as well as personal contemplation.

Pavilion

The Pavilion functions as an open structure that connects visitors with the surrounding landscape. Featuring light, thin, and metallic surfaces, it allows light to enter and reflects the changing conditions of the sky and vineyard. This outdoor area serves as a shaded patio, providing guests with views that stretch over the vineyards. Visitors can enjoy their wine here, surrounded by natural beauty. The design of the Pavilion draws people to engage with both their drinks and the scenery.

Cellar

In contrast, the Cellar is designed to create a different atmosphere. It offers privacy and seclusion, visually accessible through a prominent skylight from the Pavilion. This skylight serves as the only link to the outside, placing the focus firmly on the wine experience. The interior of the Cellar is intentionally crafted to evoke a sense of mystery, encouraging visitors to immerse themselves in tasting. This separation emphasizes the importance of connection to the wine rather than the surroundings.

Spatial Interaction

The relationship between the Pavilion and the Cellar is essential to the overall experience. The Pavilion invites guests to socialize, while the Cellar prompts quiet reflection. This blend of environments enriches the wine tasting experience, making it both a communal and personal event. The interplay of these spaces reinforces the idea that enjoying wine involves not only the senses but also the surrounding architecture.

The skylight above the Cellar is a thoughtful detail. It allows soft light to illuminate the interior while connecting it subtly to the outside world. This element enhances the architectural experience, reflecting the natural light patterns that shift throughout the day and further linking visitors to the vineyards beyond.
