The restaurant design in Iceland is a thoughtful blend of architecture and nature, set against the backdrop of the country’s distinct landscape. Serving as a dining destination, it embraces the Four Elements of Nature: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire. The triangular layout symbolizes strength and unity, effectively combining functional spaces with the natural beauty that surrounds it.

Grand Entrance

The grand entrance of the restaurant features a shape that is reminiscent of simple childhood drawings of houses. This familiar form creates a welcoming atmosphere, easing the transition from the outside world into the warmth of the restaurant. The entrance connects directly to a central garden, encouraging a strong link to nature and setting an inviting tone for all who enter.

Dining and Kitchen Areas

The interior includes spacious kitchen and dining areas, designed to maximize transparency and connection with the outdoors. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to fill the space while framing beautiful views of the Icelandic landscape. This design choice enhances the experience for diners and inspires chefs as they prepare their meals. The kitchen is efficiently laid out over two levels, balancing the needs of dining with behind-the-scenes operations.

Wellness Space

At the triangle’s final point is a dedicated yoga and exercise space. This area emphasizes wellness and relaxation, featuring large, glass walls that invite the surrounding scenery inside. Essential facilities such as storage, dressing rooms, and showers are thoughtfully included, ensuring user comfort while maintaining an open and airy feel.

Circular Elements

In addition to its triangular layout, the design incorporates circular elements that emerge from the center garden. A single tree serves as the focal point of this garden, enhancing the connection between the built environment and surrounding nature. The circular shapes create pathways, gardens, and spaces for interaction, reinforcing the themes of wholeness and continuity present throughout the project.

A green roof is part of the design, blending the building with the terrain and offering a modern touch to the overall look. This detail supports a cohesive environment that respects the unique characteristics of Iceland’s landscape while providing a comfortable space for visitors.
