### Project Overview

The Stone Barn Redo(UX) is a meditation center situated in Latvia, meticulously designed to harmonize historical context with modern functionality. The project aims to create a tranquil environment conducive to reflection and meditation, requiring careful consideration of its geographical and natural surroundings. By repurposing an existing barn structure, the design reflects a respect for heritage while integrating elements that enhance the contemporary user experience.

### Spatial Integration

The design emphasizes the interplay between traditional architectural features and modern interventions. Expansive glass walls facilitate visual connectivity, allowing for engaging interactions with the surrounding landscape while maintaining transparency. Special features, such as the Water Wall, serve as both visual and auditory enhancements, cultivating a meditative atmosphere. Additionally, vertical Reflection Portals strategically placed throughout the garden provide opportunities for personal contemplation, reinforcing the connection between the built environment and nature.

### Material Selection

The materiality of the project has been thoughtfully curated to align with its natural and tactile qualities. Local stone serves as the primary building material, reflecting regional craftsmanship and durability, while glass enhances natural light influx, thereby establishing a fluid connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. Durable concrete used for structural support juxtaposes modernity with the warmth of wood, featured prominently in interior details. A metal roofing system contributes a contemporary aesthetic and resilience to weather conditions, adapting well to the Latvian landscape. The overall material selection supports sustainability and fosters a sense of place.
