Light-Filled Yoga Center with Integrated Tree Zones and Elevated Terrace

Project in-detail

Bathed in natural light, the yoga center seamlessly integrates tree zones and an elevated terrace, enhancing its connection to the surrounding landscape while providing a tranquil space for wellness practice.
5 key facts about this project
01
Light serves as a design element, guiding visitors through the building.
02
Two tree zones are integrated into the yoga practice area, enhancing the natural connection.
03
Bifolding door systems allow for panoramic views and environmental interaction.
04
Stairs navigate a one-meter elevation change between the cliffs, ensuring accessibility.
05
The design prioritizes simplicity and purity in form to create a tranquil atmosphere.

The Pursuit of Light is located in Vale de Moses, a valley known for its distinctive topography and calm surroundings. Functioning as a yoga center, the building is set at the peak of a hill, allowing visitors to enjoy broad views of the natural landscape. The design emphasizes the importance of light, which influences both the arrangement of the spaces and the ambiance inside the center.

Architectural Form

The structure takes the shape of a rectangular prism, which reflects a straightforward and clear design. Inside, the building includes various functional areas such as a yoga studio, restrooms, a small kitchen, and storage for guests' belongings. A corridor connects these spaces and leads out to a terrace, creating a connection between the inside and outside environments.

Site Integration

The design carefully considers the site's elevation changes, marked by a one-meter difference between two cliffs. To manage this change in height, stairs are incorporated, ensuring easy access throughout the building. This feature improves the usability of the space and reinforces the design’s interaction with the surrounding landscape.

Light and Nature

An essential aspect of the concept is the natural light that enters the building. Bifolding door and window systems are strategically placed to allow light to fill the interior. These openings create a relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing the experience for users. Additionally, two tree zones within the yoga practice area enable light to filter through, strengthening the bond with the natural environment and enriching the overall atmosphere.

The overall design respects the principles of yoga, encouraging tranquility and mindfulness. The thoughtful arrangement of light, form, and elevation creates an inviting space that nurtures both personal reflection and community practice, resulting in a warm and engaging environment.
