The architectural design titled "UNDER LEAVES" is set in the ancient woodlands of Ozolini, close to Lake Bezdibenė. It functions as a retreat for meditation and tea drinking, emphasizing a connection with nature. The project is designed to blend with its surroundings while providing a peaceful atmosphere for guests. The concept prioritizes minimal impact on the environment, making it a thoughtful addition to this natural landscape.

Concept and Design Integration

Cabins feature roofs shaped like leaves, inspired by apple tea leaves. This design choice not only enhances the visual appeal but also reinforces the connection to the natural environment. The thatched roofs reflect traditional Latvian architecture, grounding the cabins in cultural history while promoting ecological sensitivity.

Functional Layout

Each cabin is organized to serve various purposes, allowing guests to engage in both social interactions and solitary reflection. In the west section, essential amenities such as beds, closets, and desks are located, with the east side dedicated to utility spaces. This smart arrangement emphasizes both comfort and practicality for short stays, catering to the differing needs of visitors seeking solace.

Sustainable Features

The project incorporates design elements that respond to climate conditions, making it comfortable year-round. In warmer months, the cabins offer cross ventilation and south-facing windows, which aid in cooling and natural lighting. Additionally, mosquito nets enhance the indoor experience. During the winter, a hearth provides warmth, ensuring that the cabins remain inviting throughout the changing seasons.

Innovative Storage Solutions

Storage options have been thoughtfully integrated into the design to improve the functionality of the cabins. Each cabin includes a closet for personal belongings, under-bed storage for clothing and accessories, and utility areas equipped with cleaning supplies and water tanks. Bathrooms are designed with attention to detail, offering essential amenities while maintaining a simple and clean aesthetic.

The design invites moments of peace while providing clear views of the surrounding woodland, allowing guests to feel connected to nature throughout their stay.
