The architectural design features a careful mix of functionality and aesthetic elements in a setting that promotes social connection. It is designed to serve both private living needs and public interactions, making the most of the space available. The approach reflects modern architectural values that emphasize sustainability and visual appeal.

Facade and Exterior Design

The facade includes tin roof panels, providing a clean and simple exterior that is easy to maintain. The front walls are made from impregnated matured wood in a gray finish, enhancing the building's look and contributing to its durability. The combination of these materials creates a balanced visual effect while ensuring long-term performance against weather elements.

Structural Framework

The structure uses glued-laminated wood for framing, reinforced with a frame brace system. This approach not only enhances stability but also allows for flexible interior spaces. It is designed to support various activities while maintaining the integrity of the building. The materials chosen are reliable and aligned with current trends focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability.

Spatial Organization

Inside, the layout is thoughtfully divided into different areas. The first floor features a kitchenette combined with a dining space, encouraging communal gatherings. Along with a bathroom, there is also a terrace that enhances outdoor access. The living room, which connects with the dining area, offers a comfortable setting for relaxation. Upstairs, the second floor comprises a spacious living room, practical storage spaces, and a private bedroom with a balcony that invites natural light and fresh air.

Landscaping and Site Design

The exterior site design encourages outdoor activities. It includes areas dedicated to wine tasting and social gatherings, with a pergola serving as a focal point for interaction. The landscaping features a selection of trees, including Pinus and Populus 'italica,' along with planned shrubbery and flowering meadows. These elements not only add beauty but also enhance the experience of the natural surroundings.

The careful arrangement of these elements emphasizes a strong relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces, fostering an inviting environment that encourages both personal and communal interactions.

The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025: Celebrating Architectural Creativity and Visionary Unbuilt Designs with a Total Prize Fund of €100,000

`
Competition organisers

The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025 is an international architecture competition dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the value of unrealized architectural designs. It invites architects, designers, and students worldwide to submit visionary projects that have not yet been constructed, highlighting the power of ideas and the creativity behind the design process. By focusing on unbuilt work, the competition aims to bring forward concepts that shape the future of architecture and push the boundaries of the profession.

Participants can compete in three categories based on project scale: Small Wonders (up to 100 m²), Medium Marvels (101–999 m²), and Large Visions (over 1,000 m²). Each category winner will receive €20,000, and additional prizes include honorable mentions, student awards, and a special Best Presentation Award. Winning projects will gain significant international exposure through Buildner’s publicity campaign and a feature article on ArchDaily, providing a unique opportunity to showcase creative ideas to a global audience.

The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025 encourages entrants to submit any type of unbuilt project, from conceptual visions to detailed designs, celebrating bold innovation without the constraints of realization. Important deadlines: registration closes on October 30, 2025; submissions are due by November 20, 2025; winners will be announced on December 17, 2025.
