The Coffee Kiosk offers a space where people can enjoy hot coffee while being shielded from the elements. Situated in an urban setting, the design takes the form of a black wooden box that includes a central glazed corridor, allowing for visibility and interaction with the surroundings. The overall concept focuses on both functionality and community, aiming to enhance social interactions while providing a welcoming atmosphere.

Functionality

The kiosk features an innovative mechanism that allows it to open and close through a hydraulic pump. Access is granted only when the structure is open, keeping all coffee-serving activities contained within. This design choice encourages visitors to enter, inviting them to explore the space and engage more deeply with the coffee experience.

Natural Light

A standout feature of the design is the central glazed area that floods the kiosk with natural light. When closed, the compact form of the box makes it easy to transport, allowing it to serve as a part of urban furniture after hours. This adaptability positions the Coffee Kiosk as a functional element of city life, blending into the bustling surroundings.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a primary consideration, with the design emphasizing local sourcing and assembly to limit pollution. The components of the kiosk can be disassembled without waste, promoting recyclability. This thoughtful approach aligns with the growing emphasis in architecture on environmental responsibility, ensuring that the kiosk is well-suited for modern urban challenges.

The interior includes an internal window at the bar station, fostering interaction as coffee is served. This detail not only enhances the overall user experience but also helps create a warm, inviting atmosphere that encourages community connection.
