The design is a cabin located in Latvia that emphasizes a thoughtful balance between the building and its natural surroundings. It focuses on user experience by organizing space in a clear way. The central idea is a guiding wall that helps occupants navigate the cabin easily. This design allows inhabitants to engage with their environment through a well-planned and accessible layout.

Wall of Guidance

At the heart of the cabin is the "Wall of Guidance." This wall establishes a path that makes it easy for users to find their way through the space. Acting as both a boundary and a directional guide, the wall helps create a logical flow within the structure. Through its careful design, it offers a clear sense of direction as individuals move through the cabin.

Layered Spatial Design

The project uses a layered approach to enhance the experience within the cabin. The first layer opens up the space, creating a connection between the indoors and the outdoors. It allows plenty of natural light to enter, making the interior feel warm and welcoming. This openness encourages occupants to feel linked to the landscape around them, promoting a sense of comfort and connection.

As one moves up through the building, the second layer introduces a more intimate space. The scale changes here, creating an area that feels more private and reflective. This design choice allows for moments of solitude, catering to the user’s need for personal space while still maintaining usability.

Functional Integration

The design also ensures practical needs are met. The wall includes necessary elements such as a mini kitchen and storage areas under the staircase. These features are integrated thoughtfully, enhancing the usability of the space without compromising its aesthetic. The focus on efficiency in this area makes everyday tasks easier for occupants.

At the top of the cabin, a balcony provides an expansive view of the Latvian landscape. This open area extends the living space outward, offering a place to enjoy the scenery while allowing for quiet moments of reflection. The balcony highlights the connection between the built environment and nature, making the experience of being in the cabin both enjoyable and meaningful.
