The design focuses on creating a supportive environment for individuals in the later stages of life. Located at the meeting point of two green areas in a city center, the facility aims to provide a quiet space away from the bustle of urban life. The concept centers on blending elements that evoke the feeling of home with the calming presence of nature, ensuring residents find comfort during a difficult time.

Functionality and Layout

The layout is spread across three floors, each designed for specific uses that cater to resident needs. The first floor includes communal spaces such as a common area, work space, and chapel, encouraging social interaction and nurturing a community spirit. On the second floor, treatment rooms and auxiliary spaces are included alongside nursing stations to ensure that care is always accessible. The third floor contains private wards, giving residents the necessary privacy and comfort, supported by dedicated nursing facilities to provide optimal care.

Integration of Green Spaces

Landscaping is a key feature of the design, with a green terrace and garden integrated into the overall plan. These outdoor spaces offer residents a chance to connect with nature, creating a peaceful atmosphere that can positively influence mental well-being. This integration not only brings beauty to the environment but also encourages engagement with the outdoors, which is essential for comfort during this stage of life.

Emphasis on Emotional Well-Being

Attention to emotional needs is evident in the layout, which offers a variety of spaces for both solitude and social connection. This dual approach recognizes the importance of supporting emotional health within hospice care. The arrangement of spaces is designed to promote calm and security, important factors for residents and their families.

Natural Light and Ambiance

The design prioritizes open areas and plenty of natural light, creating a warm environment that feels inviting. These features play a vital role in fostering a sense of comfort similar to that of home. The easy flow between indoor and outdoor spaces enhances this connection, allowing residents to experience the benefits of nature without leaving the comfort of their living environment.
