LUNE is a modern design that responds to significant social and environmental issues. Located in an urban setting, it combines both private and communal spaces into a versatile living environment. The concept is based on the need for a balanced relationship between people and their surroundings, emphasizing sustainability and the importance of social interaction.

Spatial Configuration

The design features a thoughtful layout that merges private and semi-public areas. Bathrooms are positioned as separators for backyards, optimizing the overall space and improving air circulation. This arrangement allows for a sense of openness, catering to individual needs while still creating opportunities for community engagement.

Airflow and Connectivity

Important design elements enhance airflow and visibility throughout the interior. Glass louver doors serve as extensions of the living space and provide natural ventilation. These doors allow for connections with outdoor areas, encouraging residents to engage with their environment while ensuring comfort within the home.

Ecological Considerations

LUNE places a strong emphasis on ecological balance through its design choices. The structure encourages social interaction while minimizing physical contact, which is crucial for health and well-being. By actively reducing energy consumption, it aligns with modern sustainability goals and addresses the needs of today's living conditions.

Material Selection

The choice of materials is essential for the project's overall performance. It includes interior sheathing, batt insulation, and gypsum wallboard, improving thermal efficiency. Steel tracks provide structural stability, while the exterior sheathing and insulation enhance energy performance. Additionally, the integration of a green roof and planter supports both biodiversity and environmental sustainability.

Natural light enters through strategically positioned glass elements, illuminating the spaces within. This creates dynamic shadows that change throughout the day, adding to the experience of living in LUNE.
