The Vogafjós Film Pavilion and Restaurant is located in the rugged terrain of northern Iceland, close to the Vogafjós Farm. This structure combines the functions of a cinema and a restaurant, aiming to enhance cultural experiences for visitors. The design concept captures the essence of the surrounding environment by exploring themes of contrast. Architectural Concept
The design takes cues from the dramatic landscape, particularly the Hverfjall volcano, which influences the theater’s solid and imposing structure. Spatial Organization
The layout effectively separates the theater from the restaurant while ensuring both spaces feel connected. The restaurant is designed to face north, allowing views of the aurora.
