Framed Vistas and Folded Surfaces in a Mountain Retreat

Project in-detail

Incorporating folded surfaces that respond to the mountainous terrain, the studio offers framed vistas and a serene environment designed for yoga practice and community gatherings.
5 key facts about this project
01
Folded surfaces create visual continuity with the sloping terrain.
02
Framed vistas enhance users' connection to the surrounding landscape.
03
The studio layout accommodates both personal and group yoga practices.
04
Integration with the cliffside fosters a sense of natural tranquility.
05
Design elements prioritize natural light and ventilation for comfort.

The yoga studio located in the mountains of Vale de Moses is designed to create a thoughtful space for both reflection and practice. Its overall concept emphasizes harmony with the surrounding landscape. The building serves as a retreat for yoga practitioners, blending the ideals of the practice with the natural environment. The structure aims to foster a sense of balance between the indoor and outdoor worlds.

Spatial Organization

The interior layout allows for flexibility in how the space is used. It supports both individual meditation and group sessions. This design encourages a versatile use of the studio, making it suitable for various activities. Users can find solitude or come together, reflecting the communal essence of yoga. The organization of the space creates an atmosphere that promotes relaxation and focus.

Connection to Landscape

One important aspect of the design is the incorporation of folded surfaces. These elements respond to the natural topography, linking the building and its surroundings. This approach creates an experience where users can feel connected to the landscape while practicing yoga. The carefully planned sightlines enhance interactions with nature. The studio becomes more than just a building; it encourages an active engagement with the environment.

Environmental Considerations

Attention to environmental factors is also a key part of the design. The studio is oriented to take advantage of natural light, allowing it to fill the space throughout the day. This use of sunlight creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Additionally, ventilation strategies have been considered to improve airflow. These choices contribute to a comfortable environment and reflect a sensitivity to the ecological context.

The design includes layered surfaces that provide functional spaces for gathering. These elements not only add visual interest but also allow for diverse activities within the studio. Overall, the yoga studio emerges as a calm sanctuary, supporting individual practice and group connection in harmony with the natural beauty of Vale de Moses.
