The hospice is designed to integrate architecture with nature, focusing on healing and well-being for patients. Situated in a calm landscape, the building embodies the concept of life's cycle, aiming to provide an environment conducive to recovery and reflection. The design creates opportunities for various therapeutic experiences while fostering connections among patients.

Integration with Nature

The design emphasizes a close relationship with the natural surroundings, which enhances the hospice's healing qualities. An array of carefully arranged greenery surrounds the facility, symbolizing both growth and renewal. Patients are encouraged to engage with this natural environment, creating meaningful connections with the changing seasons that can aid in the healing process.

Therapy Hub Experience

Upon entering the ground floor, patients find themselves in the primary therapy hub, characterized by diverse plant life that changes throughout the year. This area stands in contrast to the typical hospital environment, providing a bright atmosphere that comforts and uplifts patients. Along the corridors, medical devices and planters work together to create a lively space, emphasizing the role of nature in promoting well-being.

Functional Zoning

The layout features clearly defined functional zones, including nurse stations, counseling rooms, kitchens, and restrooms, all arranged in enclosed capsules. This design ensures privacy while allowing for community interaction. By thoughtfully organizing these spaces, the design promotes a sense of security for patients, while also encouraging connections with others throughout the facility.

Chapel and Green Roof

A central chapel presents an inviting place for reflection and hope, enhanced by climbing plants that cover its façade. This space serves as the emotional heart of the hospice, offering comfort and tranquility. Additionally, the green roof reflects a commitment to sustainability, connecting the building with its environment and allowing it to adapt to the changing seasons.

Large windows frame views of the surrounding landscape, merging indoor and outdoor spaces. This design choice enhances the experience for patients, bringing natural light and views into the hospice. The landscape becomes part of the healing journey, reinforcing the connection between nature and well-being.
