The design is located in the Ķemeri region, which is noted for its unique bog landscape. It aims to create an immersive experience that connects visitors with the ecological features of the area. The concept, called "ALMOST DROWNING," reflects the evolution of the bog, showing how its surfaces change from concave to convex due to the growth of peat. The architecture seeks to blend with the natural surroundings, encouraging a deeper appreciation of the bog environment.

Parking and Access

The site includes parking for 100 vehicles, complete with accessible spots and designated areas for buses. This decision allows for easy visitor access, simplifying entry to various amenities. The parking area serves as the starting point for the experience, linking visitors with the surrounding landscape right from their arrival.

Camping and Recreational Facilities

The planning incorporates six camping spots, separated by bushes to enhance privacy and comfort for guests. These areas are equipped with shared restroom and laundry facilities to support both short and long-term visitors. This setup allows for various outdoor activities while ensuring that essential services are readily available for everyone.

Children’s Engagement and Water Elements

A significant feature is the children's playground, which includes interactive options such as a slip-n-slide track, a triangular hammock, and flowerbeds designed for learning. These elements aim to engage younger visitors in a fun and educational way. Additionally, a shallow water pool is included, reflecting the bog's hydrological qualities. This space allows for activities like slip-n-slide in warmer months and offers potential for ice skating when temperatures drop.

Outdoor Gathering Spaces

An outdoor kitchen and fireplace area encourage social interaction among visitors. This setting includes grilling spots and seating arrangements, promoting a communal atmosphere. Nearby, the info center merges ticketing and exhibition spaces with café services. This design enhances overall visitor experience by providing necessary amenities in a central location.

The arrangement of building volumes suggests the concept of sinking into the landscape, aligning with the project’s natural theme. Wooden pathways connect various areas of the site, creating a direct and tactile relationship with the surrounding bog.
