The Velo Stop Cabin is designed to provide comfort and rest for cyclists on their journeys. Located in beautiful areas, it serves not only as a place to relax but also to appreciate the surrounding nature. The central idea of the cabin is to create a space that connects occupants with the views outside, making it feel like a part of the landscape.

Functional Layout

The cabin is arranged across three levels, each serving a specific purpose. The entrance level focuses on practical needs, offering bike storage, a bathroom, and gas storage. This level ensures that cyclists have easy access to necessary facilities when they arrive, setting the stage for a pleasant stay.

Living Space

On the second level, the design shifts to living spaces with a kitchenette, terrace, and an observing deck. This layout encourages interaction with both indoor areas and the outdoors. The terrace is an inviting space where occupants can relax and enjoy the scenery. It promotes gatherings, allowing individuals to connect while taking in the natural surroundings.

Sleeping Quarters

The third level is dedicated to rest, featuring four sleeping units. This arrangement provides comfort and privacy for cyclists after long days of riding. The intentional design focuses on creating a peaceful environment, essential for a good night’s sleep and recovery.

Craftsmanship and Materiality

The cabin showcases a timber structure with a wooden finish, reflecting a preference for natural materials. This choice enhances its connection to the environment, allowing it to blend smoothly with the landscape. The warm wood interior creates a cozy atmosphere, making the cabin a welcoming place to retreat after an active day.

Through its thoughtful design, the cabin balances functionality and the enjoyment of nature. It stands as a quiet sanctuary, inviting occupants to take a moment to appreciate their surroundings.
