The Monte d'Oiro Winery Hotel Complex is located in the Lisbon District, specifically within Quinta do Monte d’Oiro in Alenquer Municipality. The design merges hospitality with recreational functions, focusing on a concept that respects the environment and integrates well with the landscape. The complex aims to create spaces that promote interaction among visitors while providing access to nature.

Design Concept

The project is rooted in the idea that architecture can enhance the experience of its surroundings. The layout thoughtfully organizes different functional areas, including a restaurant, banquet hall, spa, and hotel rooms. Each section has been designed to meet specific needs while contributing to a cohesive overall experience. The emphasis is on making the complex a welcoming place for guests, encouraging both social gatherings and personal relaxation.

Spatial Arrangement

The context plan illustrates how the spaces are arranged to maximize usability. On the first floor, important elements like the restaurant and banquet area allow for gatherings and events, complemented by views that bring the beauty of the outdoors inside. The incorporation of a spa signifies a focus on wellness, providing a quiet retreat within the bustling environment of the hotel.

Engagement with Outdoors

Visualizations of outdoor spaces, such as the terrace and pool area, show how these features are essential to the complex. These spaces invite leisure and enjoyment, built to foster a connection between guests and nature. The architecture skillfully balances built forms with the surrounding landscape, creating an atmosphere that encourages visitors to step outside and enjoy the fresh air.

Architectural Features

Elevations offered in the project provide an understanding of how the buildings are designed. Consideration for natural light and the terrain informs the architectural style, allowing the structures to blend into their environment. While the specific materials have not been detailed, the openness to interpretation allows for adaptation to the ecological context of the site.

The terraces feature expansive views of the surrounding vineyards, enhancing the experience for guests who wish to connect with the local landscape. These thoughtful details invite occupants to enjoy both the comfort of the complex and the beauty of nature.
