The Wine Tower at Quinta do Monte d'Oiro winery is designed to serve as a tasting room, elevated above a quiet hill. Set amidst the vineyard, the space highlights the natural beauty of the surroundings while providing guests with expansive views of the landscape. The overall concept focuses on combining function with aesthetic appeal, allowing visitors to engage with both the wine and the environment.

Structural Composition

The tower features three cantilevered truss systems arranged at sharp angles. This arrangement elevates the tasting room, creating a noticeable architectural presence in the area. A spiral ramp descends from the entrance, wrapped around the supporting legs of the structure. This design allows easy access to the vineyard and barrel room, ensuring that the movement through the space feels fluid and inviting.

Circulation and Functionality

The design places a strong emphasis on accessibility. A staircase is integrated into one of the structure's legs, providing direct connection to a retaining wall. This setup facilitates movement between the different operational areas of the winery. In addition, a conveyor belt runs alongside the stairs. This feature helps transport wine bottles and dishes to the tasting area, improving the efficiency of the service and minimizing disruption.

Interior Design Elements

Inside the tasting room, several views are carefully framed to connect visitors with the beauty of the winery's surroundings. A ladder on tracks is positioned for easy access to wine bottles stored on high shelves, organized according to the three varieties produced by the winery. This practical design not only ensures that staff can easily retrieve items but also complements the overall atmosphere of the space.

Seating Arrangements

The seating area includes an eclipse wine table surrounded by stools, placed strategically near the curtain wall. This arrangement allows guests to enjoy comfortable seating while taking in the elevated views of the valley. The careful placement of seating encourages a connection between users and the landscape, fostering a more enjoyable tasting experience.

The design emphasizes a harmonious blend of usability and visual appeal, creating a functional space where visitors can appreciate the offerings of Quinta do Monte d'Oiro winery while enjoying the scenic environment.
