Elevated Reflection with Copper Vases and Concrete Formations

Project in-detail

Set within a tranquil landscape, an elevated platform uses concrete and copper vases to create a contemplative cemetery that promotes reflection and connection with nature.
5 key facts about this project
01
Elevated platform design allows sunlight and air to reach the ground.
02
Open chambers next to urns provide views of surrounding nature.
03
C-shaped concrete benches offer functional seating for visitors.
04
Copper vases add aesthetic detail to each urn unit.
05
Two walls organize and create a sense of privacy in the cemetery.

The design presents a reflective space that embodies the metaphor of the Ark. Set within a peaceful natural environment, the elevated platform acts as a sanctuary for people mourning the loss of loved ones. This concept reduces its impact on the surrounding land, allowing grass and plants to grow freely while letting sunlight and fresh air reach the site. The overall design seeks to foster a calm atmosphere that supports personal reflection and connection to nature.

Spatial Organization

The cemetery has two walls specifically for urn placements. This layout gives visitors open views while still offering a sense of privacy. It helps people engage with the space meaningfully without feeling exposed. Additionally, a C-shaped concrete bench is incorporated, providing a functional area for visitors to rest and contemplate their thoughts.

Integration with Nature

The design emphasizes the connection between architecture and the surrounding environment. Open chambers next to each urn allow visitors to enjoy views of nearby trees and natural light. This thoughtful detail enhances the experience of remembrance. Nature is not only background here; it plays a key role in creating a tranquil setting for reflection.

Material Choices

Materials for the project include the C-shaped concrete bench, which adds strength and practical use to the design. Accompanying each urn is a copper-coated vase, chosen for its aesthetic quality that complements the overall solemn feel of the site. These carefully selected materials reflect a balance of form and function in the cemetery's design.

The elevated platform, combined with the strategic positioning of urns and landscaping, promotes a peaceful environment. Visitors can engage in personal reflection, surrounded by elements that are both thoughtful and intentional. Each detail contributes to a harmonious connection between the constructed space and the natural landscape.
