Crossing the Sky is located in a landscape of pine trees and tall grass, focusing on enhancing the visitor experience through elevated observation platforms. The design aims to connect people with nature, using thoughtfully planned pathways that encourage exploration. By avoiding traditional tower structures, the project allows visitors to appreciate the surrounding scenery from various heights and perspectives.

Pathway Design

The pathways are essential to the design, facilitating gentle inclines that guide visitors through the natural environment. Originally, the pathways were only 75 cm wide, which limited access for some individuals. The redesign expands these paths to 180 cm, ensuring they are accessible to a wider range of visitors. This change shows a strong commitment to inclusivity, making it easier for all guests to navigate the area.

Site Analysis

A detailed site analysis was crucial in selecting the location of the structure. The chosen west intersection point offers optimal views and is close to a bog area. This careful placement reflects the understanding of the landscape and allows the design to blend with its surroundings. Visitors can enjoy the unique features of the area from this strategic viewpoint.

Sustainability and Materiality

Sustainability is a central focus of the project. Reusing materials from previous constructions minimizes environmental impact. By keeping the existing wooden blocks and making only slight adjustments to the route, the design remains mindful of resources.
