Elevated Pathway of Local Wood Connecting Forest to Lake

Project in-detail

An elevated pathway crafted from local wood guides visitors through a forested landscape to a serene Meditation Deck overlooking Lake Bezdibene, facilitating a deep connection with nature.
5 key facts about this project
01
The pathway is elevated to minimize disturbance to the forest floor.
02
Local wood is used throughout, reinforcing sustainability.
03
The Meditation Deck provides unobstructed views of the lake.
04
Mid-level huts offer close interaction with tree trunks and foliage.
05
Design elements encourage both exploration and quiet reflection.

The Floating Walk project is located in a forested area near Lake Bezdibene, primarily accessible from Ozolini Household. The design aims to create an elevated pathway that connects visitors to the surrounding natural environment while minimizing impact on the ecosystem. The overall concept promotes a balance between human activity and nature, inviting people to explore and reflect on the landscape.

Pathway Design

The Floating Walk consists of an elevated pathway that rises through different elevations in the forest. At ground level, visitors engage directly with the low plants and small life that thrive there. As one moves upward, the pathway leads to mid-level shelters that provide comfortable spaces between tree trunks, offering a place for rest and contemplation. This layered experience encourages people to connect more deeply with the natural environment.

Meditation Deck

At the highest point of the Floating Walk, a Meditation Deck provides expansive views of Lake Bezdibene. This area serves as a quiet spot for reflection, integrating the built space with the surrounding landscape. Visitors can take in the sights and sounds of the lake and forest, enhancing their experience in nature. The elevation of the deck amplifies the sense of tranquility and peace.

Material Consideration

Sustainability is an important aspect of the project, with local wood used for various elements, including the pathway, Stay Cabin, and Dry Bathroom. These materials help reduce the ecological footprint and allow the design to fit naturally within its environment. The choice of local wood supports a connection to the area’s resources, enhancing the overall aesthetic and purpose of the structures.

Functional Spaces

The Stay Cabin is located along the Floating Walk and provides a simple living area designed for comfort. Large, hinged windows allow views of the surrounding landscape, creating an inviting atmosphere for occupants. Additionally, the Dry Bathroom is positioned near the entry of the pathway, supporting essential needs without disrupting the natural setting.

As visitors walk the Floating Walk, they encounter various features that encourage moments of reflection and clear appreciation for the relationship between human presence and the natural world. Each step along the path reveals new aspects of the forest, inviting exploration and connection.
