The "Forest to Frame" project sits within a peaceful forest near Bezdibene Lake. It is designed as a cabin, providing a space for relaxation and meditation. The aim is to create a strong bond between people and the natural environment surrounding them. The concept focuses on integrating the building into the landscape, encouraging a sense of calm and mindfulness in its occupants.

Elevated Design

The structure is elevated above the ground to address concerns about moisture and pests. This choice not only contributes to the building's durability but also offers occupants a distinct view of the forest. The design includes two levels: a ground floor and a loft, each with purpose while maintaining an open feel throughout the space.

Functional Spaces

The ground floor functions as a flexible area for activities like reading, relaxing, and meditation. Its open layout promotes easy movement and interaction among different functions. Large windows are strategically placed to allow natural light and views of the trees to fill the interior, enhancing the experience of mindfulness.

Intimate Loft

The loft serves as a private space for sleeping and quiet moments. Its elevated position provides various perspectives of the forest, allowing occupants to appreciate the changing landscape during different times of the day. This design choice emphasizes the connection to nature, making the loft a tranquil retreat.

Materiality

Wood is the main material throughout the cabin, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This choice helps create a sensory experience inside while aligning with the goal of connecting with the natural surroundings. The careful detailing of the wooden features reinforces the relationship between the indoor area and the outdoor forest, making the natural world a central element for those who use the space.

Above the main entrance, an overhang offers shelter while also presenting a distinct architectural detail. This feature invites guests into a space that respects tradition and responds thoughtfully to its environment.
