The Yogo House on a Cliff is designed to harmonize with the surrounding forest, serving as a retreat for yoga and meditation. Located in a peaceful wooded area, the building's concept emphasizes a strong connection to nature. The layout encourages fluid movement through its spaces, reflecting the tranquility of the natural environment and providing a space for occupants to relax and rejuvenate.

Spatial Organization

Inside, the house features a well-thought-out layout focused on creating a sense of calm. Two yoga studios occupy central positions, allowing ample natural light to flood the spaces and providing views of the forest. These studios, alongside meditation rooms, create an inviting atmosphere for reflection and relaxation. Practical areas such as a kitchen and storage are included to support the main activities, ensuring functionality without compromising the overall design.

Natural Integration

A winding path runs through wooden columns, mimicking the experience of walking in the forest. This design choice facilitates easy movement while enhancing the connection between the structure and its environment. Water features, represented by rainwater circulation, add an element of sustainability and contribute to the peaceful ambiance. The arrangement of spaces promotes an open feel, allowing individuals to immerse themselves in the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Construction and Materiality

Wood plays a crucial role in the construction of the Yogo House. The meditation deck stands out, with posts woven together to form a strong and cohesive framework. This choice of material not only provides warmth but also reinforces the strong relationship between the building and the natural landscape. The design remains simple and focused, prioritizing necessary forms that respect the environment and enhance the living experience.

Auditory Experience

Sound plays an important role in the experience of the house, with design elements crafted to capture the echoes of nature. This approach encourages inhabitants to appreciate the natural sounds of the forest, fostering a feeling of peace and connection. As these sounds fill the living spaces, they enhance the overall environment, leading to a deeper bond with the serene forest setting.

The Yogo House provides an understanding of how design can work hand in hand with nature, creating spaces that encourage reflection and well-being while offering an opportunity to engage fully with the outdoor environment.
