The techno booth project is situated in the heart of Berlin, reimagining the city's music scene during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The design emphasizes modularity and interaction, allowing users to experience music in diverse ways. Each booth operates as an independent unit and reflects Berlin's cultural richness while promoting mobility within the urban environment.

Modularity and Interaction

The design consists of three separate modules: one for listeners, one for dancers, and a third for those who create music. This division encourages users to engage in different activities at the same time, enhancing the overall experience. The sleek curves of the booth's exterior contribute to a modern look, aligning with contemporary urban transportation needs and aesthetics.

Dynamic Wall System

A key feature of the project is the moving wall system. Positioned strategically, it enhances user engagement and interaction. This feature allows the space to adapt based on how people use it, fostering community while still offering privacy. The moving wall makes it possible for users to experience an environment that changes with their needs, showcasing a commitment to user-focused design.

Integration and Docking

The docking system further supports the modular concept by enabling connections between multiple booths. When two or more booths come together, users can choose to merge their spaces, creating new configurations for shared experiences. This flexibility enhances social interaction while accommodating necessary safety measures, allowing for community engagement amidst public health concerns.

Spatial Configuration

Careful attention to spatial planning is evident in the design of each booth. The layout incorporates necessary windows for light and ventilation, along with provisions for integrating existing electric vehicles. Elements such as the thickness of the moving wall and pistons are designed with precision, ensuring that each booth maintains its functionality. This detail emphasizes the goal of creating versatile spaces that reflect the cultural identity of Berlin.

The techno booth embodies a clear focus on user experiences, cultural expressions, and the challenges of urban living. Its design promotes mobility and interaction, ensuring that music continues to play a significant role in community life.
