The project "NEW AMERICAN GOTHIC" explores Gothic architectural features in a modern context. It combines traditional design elements with current needs, creating a structure that serves multiple purposes. The setting allows for a meaningful interaction between history and contemporary life, providing a space for reflection and engagement.

Historical Context

The design relies on recognizable aspects of Gothic architecture, such as pointed arches and a strong vertical emphasis. These features create a connection to the past while being relevant to today’s architectural landscape. The façade plays with light and shadow, enhancing the building's visual appeal and allowing it to interact with the environment throughout the day.

Spatial Dynamics

A balance between symmetry and asymmetry characterizes the overall form. The symmetrical features contribute to an organized look, while the unexpected asymmetry invites curiosity and exploration. These qualities create various pathways for users to experience the space, making it engaging and dynamic.

Integration of Green Spaces

Green spaces are thoughtfully incorporated both inside and around the structure. This design choice promotes sustainability and environmental awareness. These areas provide opportunities for people to interact with nature, offering places for relaxation and connection within an urban setting.

The façade’s ability to change throughout the day is a key detail. As light shifts, it casts different patterns that invite visitors to appreciate the structure from various angles. This subtle play of light adds depth and interest to the overall experience.
