5 key facts about this project
01
The pod's design incorporates a distorted geometric form to enhance spatial dynamics.
02
Color palette features a distinctive orange-black scheme that promotes relaxation.
03
Voronoi patterning creates unique surface textures that engage users visually and tactilely.
04
Carbon fiber panels provide lightweight durability while allowing complex shapes.
05
The structure is positioned to offer a retreat experience away from city noise.

The meditation pod located in Shibuya, Japan, serves as a peaceful escape from the city's busy atmosphere. It encourages moments of calm and reflection amid the constant energy of urban life. The design focuses on creating a unique experience, where users can step away from the daily rush and into a space that alters their perception of time and tranquility.

Geometric Form and Spatial Dynamics

The pod features a distinctive geometry characterized by distortions and complex shapes influenced by voronoi patterns and polygonal designs. These elements enhance both the visual appeal and the overall spatial experience. The arrangement of the structure encourages users to navigate through different areas, promoting interaction and contemplation in a thoughtful way.

Color and Atmospheric Influence

Color is an important component of the design, prominently using an orange-black color scheme. This choice creates a welcoming atmosphere, making the pod feel inviting and warm. The colors support the idea of meditation by encouraging relaxation and a sense of escape from the surrounding environment.

Material Selection

Voronoi and polygon carbon fiber panels make up the structure's exterior. These materials are chosen for their lightweight yet sturdy qualities. They allow for the creation of intricate shapes while providing durability suitable for an urban setting. The materials reflect a modern approach, emphasizing both functionality and aesthetics.

The meditation pod presents itself as a space focused on promoting peace and mindfulness. Its unique design encourages users to take a break from their fast-paced surroundings and experience a moment of solace within its carefully crafted environment.
