Oscillate is a portable booth designed to engage with the urban setting of Berlin. It intends to travel through various boroughs, acting as a lively focal point for user interaction. Inspired by the energy of techno music, the design captures the essence of sound, creating an engaging space that encourages exploration and connection.

Form and Movement

The form of Oscillate visually reflects sound waves through its undulating surfaces. This design approach creates a sense of fluidity, making the booth appear dynamic. The movement suggested by the form aligns well with Berlin's vibrant techno culture, inviting users to participate in a lively atmosphere.

Materiality

Two primary materials are used in this project. Wood forms the undulating surfaces, providing a warm and inviting tactile quality. This choice highlights the organic flow of sound, enhancing the overall experience. Additionally, dichroic glass is integrated into the design, allowing light to pass through and create colorful reflections. This interaction between light and material generates a captivating visual effect that enhances the booth's appeal.

Contextual Integration

The placement of Oscillate in popular boroughs is vital to its function. Contextual diagrams indicate areas where the booth could energize public spaces and encourage social interaction. The aim is to create memorable shared experiences through music and community engagement, demonstrating how context plays an essential role in shaping architectural design.

The combination of form, light, and user experience results in a booth that not only serves its functional purpose but also fosters an atmosphere where sound and energy come together, enriching the urban landscape.
