The UVA TASTING ROOM is a thoughtfully designed space that integrates well with the surrounding vineyard. Located in the Monte D'Oiro complex, the design focuses on the experience of tasting wine, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for social gatherings. The concept of "UVA," representing unity and the joy of sharing wine, is central to the project, highlighting the connection between people and their environment.

Spatial Organization

Three distinct areas comprise the design: a welcoming front porch, a lounge area that accommodates thirty guests, and an outdoor deck offering wide views of the vineyard. This layout encourages interaction among visitors, promoting a sense of community. Each space is thoughtfully positioned to enhance both visual and physical connections to the landscape, enriching the overall experience of wine tasting.

Material Selection

The materials used in the UVA TASTING ROOM are essential for establishing its character. Tiles, wood, metal, and glass are selected for their compatibility with local styles and traditions. This choice helps create a cozy atmosphere while ensuring that the structure fits cohesively within its surroundings, maintaining a consistent architectural identity.

Connection to Landscape

Large glass elements throughout the design allow for cross ventilation and provide guests with unobstructed views of the vineyard. Curved glass panes draw inspiration from regional architecture, letting natural light fill the interior while preserving a sense of openness. Elevating the structure on pilotis enhances visibility and fosters a strong connection to the landscape, giving guests a unique perspective of the area.

Design Detail

Inside the tasting room, the flooring is arranged to mirror the layout of vineyard rows. This thoughtful detail deepens the link between the building and its agricultural context. It invites guests to engage with the essence of winemaking as they move through the space, creating a tangible connection to the experience of being in a vineyard.
