The Tili wine guest homes design is set in a beautiful landscape that emphasizes local architectural identity and functionality. It blends old and new elements to create a modern experience focused on wine tasting. The design concept aims to preserve cultural heritage while incorporating contemporary features that engage visitors with their surroundings.

Architectural Concept

The main idea behind the architecture connects existing historical buildings with newly designed guest houses. The layout places the guest houses at the back of the property to give visitors privacy while providing views of the nearby mountains. This arrangement helps to create a harmonious presence among the buildings, reinforcing the area’s historical context.

Preservation and Renovation

A key element of the project is the choice to preserve rather than demolish existing structures. Two older buildings on the site have been renovated to reflect their importance within the overall design. This decision helps to reduce waste and keeps the site’s story alive, highlighting the value of maintaining historical features while enhancing the guest experience.

Landscape Design

The landscape design takes inspiration from the natural shapes of grapevines. This idea creates an outdoor environment that works well with the wine tasting areas. Tasting stands are deliberately placed throughout the landscape to connect guests with the local wine culture. Carefully chosen plants add to the sensory experience, making the surroundings inviting and engaging.

Structural Features

On the technical side, the design includes various elements that provide strength and energy efficiency. The upper floor consists of an aluminum substructure, plasterboard, lightweight concrete walls, and thermal and acoustic insulation. The ground floor maintains a similar structural approach, incorporating expanded metal mesh for support and cultured stone cladding. These materials enhance the building's durability while adding visual interest.

The design includes spaces that guide the visitor experience. Features like a pond and a playground encourage interaction with nature, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all who visit.

The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025: Celebrating Architectural Creativity and Visionary Unbuilt Designs with a Total Prize Fund of €100,000

`
Competition organisers

The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025 is an international architecture competition dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the value of unrealized architectural designs. It invites architects, designers, and students worldwide to submit visionary projects that have not yet been constructed, highlighting the power of ideas and the creativity behind the design process. By focusing on unbuilt work, the competition aims to bring forward concepts that shape the future of architecture and push the boundaries of the profession.

Participants can compete in three categories based on project scale: Small Wonders (up to 100 m²), Medium Marvels (101–999 m²), and Large Visions (over 1,000 m²). Each category winner will receive €20,000, and additional prizes include honorable mentions, student awards, and a special Best Presentation Award. Winning projects will gain significant international exposure through Buildner’s publicity campaign and a feature article on ArchDaily, providing a unique opportunity to showcase creative ideas to a global audience.

The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025 encourages entrants to submit any type of unbuilt project, from conceptual visions to detailed designs, celebrating bold innovation without the constraints of realization. Important deadlines: registration closes on October 30, 2025; submissions are due by November 20, 2025; winners will be announced on December 17, 2025.
