Vale de Moses Yoga Retreat is located in the mountainous region of Serra de Estrella, by the calm river Rio Zezere. The retreat functions as a sanctuary for those seeking yoga and mindfulness. The design focuses on creating individual spaces that connect to each other and the environment, enhancing social interaction and personal reflection.

Tea House

The tea house serves as a communal gathering spot where guests can enjoy activities like cooking and sharing meals. This area promotes a sense of grounding, an important aspect of yoga practice. With its open design, it encourages visitors to engage with one another, fostering relationships and community spirit.

Void

The void acts as a space that transitions between the indoors and the outdoors. It allows natural light to flow through and incorporates elements from the landscape. Featuring a garden patio, this area offers a peaceful setting for meditation and quiet reflection. The presence of nature invites guests to pause and embrace tranquility, whether alone or in a group.

Yoga Hall

The yoga hall is specifically designed for yoga practice, positioned as the main focal point of the retreat. It includes large openings that provide views of the hills and sunsets, helping to create a strong connection with nature. A safety net is integrated into the design, which allows for safety without blocking the vistas. This feature ensures that the space is both welcoming and secure for all users.

Materials

The retreat makes use of a concrete foundation, cross-laminated timber, and cellulose insulation. These materials align with a commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. They also harmonize with the natural environment, resulting in a structure that is functional and respectful of its surroundings.

The yoga hall's design incorporates large windows, inviting natural light while allowing for stunning views. This connection with the outside world enhances the experience, creating a soothing atmosphere for practice and reflection.
