### Project Overview
**Project Name:** Kharkiv Rising
**Location:** Kharkiv, Ukraine
Kharkiv Rising aims to revitalize urban space through an architectural design that prioritizes social interaction and community engagement. The project emphasizes the re-imagining of communal living environments rather than the creation of a standalone building, reflecting a commitment to enhancing the quality of life in an urban context.

### Architectural Form and Aesthetics
The design employs a modular approach featuring dynamic forms that deviate from conventional architectural styles. By integrating horizontal and vertical elements, the project establishes multiple levels with projecting areas, including balconies and terraces. The terraced rooftops serve as accessible green spaces, providing residents with private gardens and communal social areas. This design strategy not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also connects residents with outdoor environments.

### Sustainable Materiality
The project's material palette prioritizes local resources, contributing to both sustainability and economic feasibility. Key structural elements include concrete panels for durability and cross-laminated timber (CLT), which offers lightweight construction benefits. The innovative use of industrial byproducts, such as sunflower marrow for composed panels, minimizes waste and reinforces the project's environmental consciousness. Extensive glass facades facilitate natural light penetration while sustainable insulation materials enhance energy efficiency and occupant comfort. The combination of robust concrete with organic landscaping creates a visually integrated composition that supports the overall intent of enhancing community living.

### Community and Landscape Integration
Careful integration of landscape design includes communal areas—gardens, pathways, and activity zones—that promote outdoor activities and foster community interaction. Central to the design are multifunctional social spaces, such as plazas and playgrounds, which encourage gatherings and reinforce a vibrant neighborhood atmosphere. The layout facilitates pedestrian movement and prioritizes safety and accessibility, effectively connecting various community elements and encouraging a sense of belonging among residents.
