Corten Steel Clad Structure Framing Vineyard Views

Project in-detail

Clad in corten steel, the elevated structure offers unobstructed views of the vineyard while providing a minimalist interior for wine tasting experiences.
5 key facts about this project
01
The building is elevated on three legs, enhancing views of the vineyard.
02
Four large apertures maximize natural light and direct focus to the grapevines.
03
Corten steel cladding reflects the local agricultural context.
04
White marble and Corian create a minimalistic and airy interior atmosphere.
05
The design emphasizes a seamless interaction between indoor and outdoor environments.

The Monte D'Oiro Wine Tasting Room is located at the edge of a winery, integrating harmoniously with the surrounding vineyards. The design focuses on enhancing the wine tasting experience by establishing clear visual connections to the natural environment. By emphasizing light and space, the concept allows visitors to fully engage with the beauty of the landscape while enjoying the wines produced in the region.

Exterior Design
The structure features four large openings that invite natural light in while framing views of the grapevines. This design approach serves to create a bright and welcoming environment for visitors. Elevated on three legs, the building connects the higher areas of the site to the lower vineyard, functioning as a bridge between different elevations and offering a unique perspective of the landscape.

Material Selection
Corten steel clads the exterior, providing a rugged look that reflects the local agricultural context. This choice connects the building to the farming traditions of the area by mirroring the forms of machinery found in vineyards. The weathered appearance of the steel adds character, blending the building into its environment while offering a visual contrast to the surrounding greenery.

Interior Atmosphere
Inside, the use of white marble and Corian creates a simple and airy feel that complements the tasting experience. These materials foster an environment that allows the natural beauty outside to take center stage. The light colors enhance the sense of space while ensuring that visitors remain focused on the wines and the views. The interior's minimalism contrasts with the textured exterior, achieving a balance between the two elements.

Natural Integration
The design of the Monte D'Oiro Wine Tasting Room emphasizes the relationship with its surroundings. Through careful consideration of light, space, and materials, the building provides an opportunity for visitors to connect with the vineyard. Its elevated position and large openings enhance the sensory experience, allowing nature to play a key role in the enjoyment of wine. This careful integration makes the tasting room a distinct part of the winery and its landscape.
