LeeLoo 2511 is a tranquil space designed to encourage meditation and connection with its natural surroundings. Set within a landscape of native trees and an open meadow, the design focuses on harmony between the built environment and nature. The aim is to create a peaceful atmosphere that allows individuals to reflect and heal while minimizing human impact on the area.

Concept and Structure

The project centers on establishing a sacred place for contemplation. Visitors begin their journey at the main residence, where a Corten notch serves as an inviting entry point. Following a pathway made of soft white gravel, they gradually transition into the serene meadow, which is specifically designed for relaxation and meditation.

Adaptability and User Experience

LeeLoo incorporates sliding walls connected to three-sided canvas sails which allow for flexible use of space. This adjustment fosters visual connections both inside and outside, helping users feel integrated with nature. Design elements such as meditation areas include ergonomic seating to enhance comfort for those sitting or lying down, promoting a sense of ease and calm.

Materiality and Environmental Integration

Materials play a significant role in LeeLoo. Rammed earth offers thermal mass and sustainability, grounding the structure in its location. The use of local wood and cotton panels creates a warm atmosphere, while Corten steel provides durability and visual continuity in the design. Additionally, a fireplace with a bioethanol furnace sits under a water catcher, serving both functional and aesthetic purposes.

Design Details

A noteworthy feature is the altar, which is oriented to capture sunlight throughout the day. This careful positioning enriches the experience of those using the space, enhancing their connection with natural light as they engage in their mindful practices.
