Corten Reflections in a Space of Emotional Continuity

Project in-detail

Corten steel frames interact with reflective surfaces to create a contemplative space that explores the persistence of emotional connections, serving as a sanctuary for introspection.
5 key facts about this project
01
Corten steel exterior enhances durability and encourages natural weathering.
02
Wooden frames create a warm, inviting atmosphere while contrasting with steel.
03
Reflective surfaces are strategically placed to facilitate introspection.
04
Key phrases integrated into the design evoke emotional connections.
05
Spatial organization promotes a dialogue between presence and absence.

The design explores timeless themes of love, memory, and the connections that bind individuals together. Positioned in an inviting setting that encourages reflection, the structure aims to create a space that speaks to the essence of human relationships. It delves into the feelings of continuity that exist beyond physical separation, inviting users into a narrative filled with emotional depth.

Conceptual Framework

Central to the design is the exploration of emotional ties. Key phrases such as "LOVE NEVER FADES" and "I'M JUST GONE IN THE NEXT ROOM" guide the spatial arrangements. Visitors are drawn into an environment that encourages deeper engagement with their surroundings. The design prompts a conversation about presence and absence, inviting consideration of the complexities of human experience.

Material Palette

The project features materials such as Corten steel and wooden frames. Corten steel, with its weathered appearance, conveys a sense of growth and change, symbolizing the passage of time in relationships. The strength of this material supports the architecture, while wooden frames introduce warmth and an inviting texture. Together, these materials create a balance that enriches the user experience.

Reflective Surfaces

Reflective elements, as indicated by the mention of "MIRROR," add another layer to the environment. These surfaces provide opportunities for introspection, allowing visitors to engage with their own thoughts. By incorporating reflections, the design deepens the exploration of loss and connection, creating spaces that resonate on a personal level.

Narrative of Presence and Absence

Key phrases like "I AM NOT FAR AWAY" and "I'M JUST ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD" underscore the theme of emotional resilience. The structure articulates a space that conveys the idea that emotional ties persist, regardless of physical distance. These expressions encourage users to contemplate how connections remain strong, even when separated by barriers.

Through the careful selection of materials and thoughtful design, the environment becomes a tactile representation of intimacy and connection, making visible the emotional essence of human experiences.
