Climate-Controlled Gathering Space Featuring Birch Panels and Open Views

Project in-detail

Constructed with birch panels and equipped with a louver system for climate control, the wine-tasting room creates an inviting atmosphere while maximizing panoramic views, fostering community engagement around the appreciation of wine.
5 key facts about this project
01
Natural light is maximized through strategically placed louvered facades.
02
The interior features a centrally located gathering table to encourage visitor interaction.
03
Birch panels on the ceiling create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
04
The design prioritizes seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.
05
A strong connection to the surrounding landscape is maintained throughout the layout.

The Monte D'Oiro Wine-Tasting Room is located in a beautiful area that reflects the traditions of family-run winemaking. The design centers around the idea of unity and shared experiences, creating a space that invites visitors to interact with one another. Focused on maximizing the surrounding natural vistas, the architecture balances functionality with aesthetic qualities, resulting in a welcoming environment for wine lovers.

Space Arrangement
- The layout uses an orthogonal formal mode, characterized by straight lines and organized spaces. This design helps visitors move easily within the room while encouraging social interaction. It creates a strong connection between indoor areas and the outside landscape, allowing for smooth transitions that enhance the experience of everyone visiting.

Louver System
- A key feature of the design is the louver system found on the south and west-facing facades. These louvers serve multiple purposes: they help to keep the interior comfortable by providing natural ventilation and shade from the sun. At the same time, they ensure clear views of the scenic landscape, allowing guests to fully appreciate their surroundings without compromising comfort.

Functional Elements
- The interior of the space is designed with practicality in mind. There are built-in shelves and cabinets for storing and displaying products, and counter space that supports the operations of the tasting room. A large gathering table sits at the center, encouraging guests to interact with one another. This arrangement prioritizes the needs of visitors while fostering a sense of community around wine tasting.

Materiality
- A notable detail in the design is the use of birch panels on the ceiling. These panels add warmth to the interior and provide a comforting atmosphere. The material choice connects to the traditions of winemaking, creating an inviting space that feels connected to the landscape outside. The birch panels complement the overall design by enhancing the sense of comfort and intimacy within the room.

The Monte D'Oiro Wine-Tasting Room offers a well-thought-out space where the design emphasizes its main purpose: bringing people together to appreciate wine. The strategic use of louvers allows natural light to blend beautifully with the views outside, enriching the sensory experience for all who enter the tasting room.
