The design features a cabin located within a natural landscape, focusing on solitude as a way to find peace amid the distractions of everyday life. This retreat is meant to be a quiet space for reflection and reconnection with nature. The overall concept strives to create an environment that allows individuals to immerse themselves in their surroundings and gain a sense of tranquility.

Cabin Form and Spatial Efficiency

The cabin uses a circular shape that enhances the efficiency of the space inside. This organic form encourages a connection between the building and the environment. Without traditional windows, the design prioritizes privacy and isolation, which supports the goal of fostering thoughtful contemplation.

Structural Elements

Six solid wood columns form the main support structure of the cabin, arranged in a circular pattern. This layout allows for a roof that is transparent, enabling a direct view of the sky and natural light to enter the space. The changing light throughout the day creates an atmosphere of warmth and openness. V-shaped beams support the roof while remaining mostly hidden from view, ensuring that the design appears simple and unadorned.

Sustainability and Space Utilization

Sustainability is a key focus in the design. The building uses low-waste local materials that help it blend into its surroundings. A system for collecting rainwater also supports hydronic underfloor heating, making the cabin energy-efficient. The layout is carefully organized, with the lower level dedicated to various activities, while storage and toilet facilities are placed thoughtfully. The sleeping area is positioned on a gallery floor, maintaining an atmosphere that feels spacious and inviting.

Details and Experience

The transparent roof connects inhabitants to the environment above them. This feature enhances the sense of being in touch with nature, allowing residents to experience the weather and the changing light firsthand. The design invites occupants to enjoy a peaceful setting that fosters self-discovery and reflection.
