## Overview

The Guiding Star - Radiance of the Emirati House is situated in the United Arab Emirates and aims to integrate traditional Emirati cultural values with modern architectural practices, focusing on climate resilience and urban community cohesion. The design employs an "Emirati Grid," which serves as both a structural framework and a community-building tool, promoting adaptability in residential settings and larger community configurations.

## Spatial Strategy and User Experience

Central to this project is the "Emirati Grid," designed to foster positive interactions among residents while addressing environmental challenges. The layout encourages communal engagement while maintaining individual privacy through strategically placed garden spaces that link private areas to shared environments. Each residential unit features specifically designed levels that optimize for health, resource management, and connectivity with the surrounding landscape.

## Materiality and Sustainability

The choice of materials reflects both ecological considerations and cultural narratives. The design incorporates concrete for structural integrity, glass to enhance natural light, and wood to evoke warmth and tradition. Innovative cladding materials, including perforated panels for solar shading, contribute to aesthetic and functional efficiency. Sustainability is further prioritized with the use of recycled aggregates and eco-friendly insulation, along with advanced energy systems such as rooftop solar panels, ensuring minimized ecological impact while promoting energy efficiency within the residences.
