**Overview**
A-MASS Artist Retreat is located in a historic area of Bangkok, Thailand, designed to meet the functional needs of artists while integrating aspects of Thai architectural tradition. The retreat serves as a space for creativity and collaboration among artists from various backgrounds, promoting interaction with the vibrant urban landscape of Bangkok. The triangular building form draws inspiration from local rooflines, establishing a visual connection to the region’s cultural heritage while presenting a contemporary architectural language.

**Spatial Organization and User Experience**
The design features distinct zones that facilitate both communal activities and focused artistic practice. Central common areas host exhibitions and workshops, encouraging collaboration among residents and visitors. Private studios are strategically positioned to provide individual artists with secluded environments conducive to creativity. Public engagement spaces on the ground floor invite the local community to connect with the artistic process, enhancing the retreat's role as a cultural hub.

**Material Selection and Sustainability**
The project utilizes a range of durable materials suited to the tropical climate. Reinforced concrete serves as the primary structural element, while wood is incorporated for both facade and interior finishes, adding warmth and visual interest. Large glass panels promote transparency and natural light, fostering a connection with the outdoors. Sustainable features, such as natural ventilation and shading elements, are integral to the design, optimizing energy efficiency. High ceilings and ample openings facilitate airflow, addressing the needs of a hot climate while contributing to the overall sustainability of the retreat.
