The Lapas meditation cabin is situated next to the Ozolini Tea Resort in Latvia, designed as a peaceful space for those looking for quiet and reflection. The structure takes its inspiration from tea leaves, evident in the shape of its dual roofs, which represent both shelter and a close relationship with nature. The cabin's design thoughtfully blends with its forest environment, enhancing the experience of calmness.

Design Concept
The approach uses a layout with separate volumes to create an atmosphere that encourages meditation. This arrangement helps maintain user privacy while still allowing for ease of movement. By creating an isolated space, travelers can step away from the busyness of everyday life and connect with their inner thoughts amid the surrounding woods.

Spatial Interaction
Internal spaces are arranged to encourage a connection with the outside. Views are framed to highlight the natural beauty of the landscape, and carefully placed openings in the walls let in light, adding to the peaceful quality within. This attention to the flow of light and shape helps create a calming environment that supports quiet contemplation.

Materiality
Materials chosen for the cabin play a vital role in both appearance and function. Charred wood is used for its durability and provides a unique texture that contrasts with the simple interior. Plywood adds warmth, enhancing the welcoming feel of the space. The SPF wood structure ensures necessary support for the roof, reflecting a commitment to local resources and sustainability.

The cabin features an elevated platform that extends to the outdoors. This space is designed for meditation, surrounded by trees and greenery that emphasize the natural setting. This design detail underscores the connection to nature and offers visitors an opportunity to engage with the landscape directly, fostering a deeper sense of peace.
