Baroque Elegance with Contemporary Transparency in Vineyard Hospitality

Project in-detail

Emphasizing Baroque detailing and expansive glass transparency, the vineyard retreat creates a harmonious connection between its elegant spaces and the surrounding landscape, serving as a luxurious destination for guests.
5 key facts about this project
01
Each guest room offers a minimum 180-degree view of the vineyards.
02
Baroque architectural elements are seamlessly integrated with contemporary features.
03
Large glass surfaces enhance natural light and foster visual connections.
04
The layout encourages guest interaction in communal dining spaces.
05
Careful manipulation of height creates an inviting and spacious atmosphere.

Quinta do Monte d'Orio is situated in a scenic area surrounded by vineyards, designed to provide comfortable accommodations that connect with the landscape. The focus is on enhancing the guest experience through the use of views and a welcoming atmosphere. The design combines Baroque and contemporary elements, creating a unique look that respects historical styles while incorporating modern features.

Architecture Concept

The layout places each room to ensure guests can enjoy views spanning at least 180 degrees of the vineyards. This thoughtful arrangement takes advantage of the site's natural slopes, allowing the building to blend with its environment. With this setup, guests have a strong connection to the landscape, feeling a part of the beautiful setting.

Materials and Aesthetics

The design incorporates a mix of Baroque details and a contemporary approach. Features like cornices, moldings, and carvings are included, reflecting a connection to traditional Portuguese and European architecture. This mix of historical and modern design adds depth to the overall appearance, making the building visually interesting and inviting.

Transparency and Interaction

A key characteristic is the use of transparency throughout the spaces. Large glass areas allow natural light to fill the interiors, creating a bright and airy feel. In communal areas, such as the restaurant located in Zone 3, diners can see the chefs at work, turning mealtime into an engaging experience. This design choice encourages a sense of openness and connection among guests.

Spatial Organization

The arrangement of spaces is planned to support a pleasant stay. In Zone 2, where more volume is important, Baroque influences are highlighted, resulting in taller rooms that create a sense of elegance. This careful attention to height and layout fosters a relaxed and comfortable environment throughout the hotel, encouraging social interaction and enjoyment.

The design focuses on the flow of light and space, where large glass surfaces and traditional elements work together to invite guests to immerse themselves in the tranquil views of the vineyards.
