APAIXONAR is a wine tasting room located on the edge of a hillside, designed to blend harmoniously with the surrounding vineyard. The project aims to create rich experiences for visitors through expansive views that foster a deep connection with the landscape. The design integrates natural elements and structural components, inviting guests to explore both the local wine culture and the environment surrounding them.

Design Integration

The core idea of APAIXONAR focuses on enriching visitor interaction with the landscape by using a floating form that presents dynamic visual experiences. The layout includes gathering spaces for wine enthusiasts, enabling them to connect with nature on different platforms such as a green roof terrace and an amphitheater. These design features support a fluid relationship between the building and its environment, enhancing the overall experience of the site.

Circulation and Accessibility

Upon arriving, visitors find two paths. One leads to a gently sloping ramp that flows into a green roof viewing platform, allowing guests to overlook the vineyard fields. In contrast, the second path guides patrons to the entrance of the wine tasting room. This route continues towards a main patio, designed for open-air events and gatherings. The design promotes easy movement throughout the space while encouraging engagement with the natural surroundings.

Orientation and Spatial Design

The building is oriented at a 40-degree angle toward the fields, carefully maximizing natural light and reducing the impact of surrounding trees. The interior employs large glass walls that allow for unobstructed views, enriching the sensory experience of the space. The layout accommodates up to 30 guests, with a centrally placed oak table that encourages social interaction. This arrangement reinforces the focus on shared experiences for visitors.

Materials and Aesthetic Qualities

The project uses a material palette of wood, concrete, and steel, chosen for their durability and aesthetic appeal. The natural-looking exterior complements the more industrial-style interior, creating a connection between the architecture and the landscape. Each material was selected to resonate with the environment, allowing the structure to fit within the hillside while providing essential facilities for wine tasting.

The amphitheater offers comfortable seating and fireplaces among native orange trees, creating a cozy setting for gatherings. This design detail enhances the atmosphere, providing a space for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings, adding depth to the overall experience.
