5 key facts about this project
This proposal presents a suspended meditation space, designed to support solitary reflection and engagement with the natural environment. Positioned between the forest floor and five meters above, the site allows for immersive interaction with the surrounding vegetation and local flora, including herbs and flowers used for tea production, reinforcing ecological awareness and mindfulness practices.
Cocoon Concept and Spatial Organization
The structure is designed for a single user, emphasizing personal retreat and introspection. Its layout accommodates multiple postures—lying, sitting, and standing—through the use of secondary ropes that define internal zones. The cocoon’s form embodies protection and personal growth, providing a secure space for meditation while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding forest.
Structural Integration and Environmental Considerations
Primary ropes anchored to nearby trees form the main structural framework, enabling the cocoon to hang without disturbing the forest floor. Double-layered ropes protect the interior from rain, snow, wind, and insects, ensuring comfort and resilience. The design approach minimizes ecological impact while supporting flexible spatial use, allowing users to engage with the environment safely and reflectively.
