Gizem Dokuzoguz: She pursues her architectural studies at the Vienna University of Technology in Austria, where she finished her bachelor’s and is working on her master’s thesis. Meanwhile, she is working for fasch&fuchs.architekten in Vienna.
Jasmine Auernig: She finished her bachelor and master studies in architecture at the Vienna University of Technology in Austria. Currently, she is working for Arkan Zeytinoglu Architects in Vienna.
Oguzhan Zeytinoglu: He finished his bachelor studies at the Izmir Institute of Technology and his master studies at Yaşar University in Turkey. Currently, he is working for Arkan Zeytinoglu Architects in Vienna.
Ece Atil: She finished her bachelor and master studies in architecture at the Vienna University of Technology in Austria. She started her bachelor studies at the Izmir Institute of Technology in Turkey. Then, she finished her bachelor’s and master’s degree at the Vienna University of Technology in Austria. She is currently working for Gitone as project manager and architect.
Brief information about the projects that you/your company have been involved with. For instance, what scale have you focused on/preferred, any significant projects where the company/individuals have been involved?
In our individual professional lives, we have been working with different scales of projects. As a team, our plan is to keep this diversity as well. For us, it is important to merge our ideas and get the best of them. The crucial point in our design process is, independent from the scale, to be able to imagine ourselves in our creation.
What does architecture mean to you and what is the role of an architect in your society?
Architecture is creating spaces for the living. While designing, the consciousness of user needs is essential. Architecture, therefore, is a tool to correspond to those. We aim to create refined spaces by harmonizing environmental, functional and constructive elements.
Why do you participate in architecture vision competitions?
We believe it is one of the best ways to keep professional creativity alive. by allowing the participants to push their limits. Thanks to these competitions, we as designers are able to widen our capability of thinking and discover new methods. These competitions allow us to push the creative limit with innovative ideas.
What advice would you give to individuals who struggle to decide whether it would be beneficial for them to participate in architecture vision competitions?
We would suggest they to just go for it! This is a perfect way to stimulate your design and creative skills. Architecture allures us with its creative aspect, and these competitions are a great opportunity to dive into the imaginative work.
