Nancy Beka is an architectural designer and co-director of Studio Edwards, a Melbourne-based design practice established in 2016 to bring together architecture, interiors and conceptual design with a dedication to pushing these disciplines in innovative and unexpected directions. The studio’s work is defined by elegantly crafted responses that employ inventive solutions to complex situations and challenging budgets, always striving to test materials, construction techniques, proportion and form.

Theo Dales, Johnathon Little and Zoë Little are co-founders of Koto studio. Koto designs modular houses, cabins and sculptural small buildings, with each one drawing inspiration from Scandinavian design and culture. Johnathon and Zoë returned from living on the shores of Norway's fjords with a deep appreciation of the local aesthetic and environment. As the brand progressed, Koto began looking further east to the minimalist world of Japanese design and their focus on social functionality. This is something that has always fascinated co-founder and architect Theo. Koto share their emphasis on clean and simple details that provide a sense of calm. This exploration has helped Koto's designs evolve into the carefully-considered works they are today. Koto delivers beautifully crafted, architect designed, energy neutral homes and cabins. All its buildings are produced to the very highest standards and delivered whole and complete directly to project sites. Every Koto home has been crafted with the utmost respect for both our environment and the people Koto works with.

Suzanne Hunt is Founder and Principal Architect at Suzanne Hunt Architect, a multi-awarded practice in Perth, Australia. The practice’s down-to-earth, client focused, design approach inspired by the Australian climate and stunning landscapes results in timeless, tranquil buildings that are beautifully detailed, environmentally and financially sustainable, and of place. Suzie’s ethos is “Great architecture enriches our lives physically, psychologically, spiritually and emotionally, leaving a legacy for generations to come.”

The Romantic Cabin for Two competition is part of Buildner’ event series focused on small-scale, sustainable living. The competition is run in partnership with The Earth Energies Sanctuary, a 200-acre farm located in northern New Zealand. It seeks ideas for a small, open plan cabin on the Earth Energies property that can provide a comfortable and relaxing escape for two guests to connect with nature and one another. It calls for construction technologies and materials that meet best green-building practices. This is the second competition organised with the Sanctuary after the Tiny Kiwi Meditation Cabin, also currently open for submissions.
