04
Constructed with aluminum framing for lightweight durability in alpine conditions.
05
Emphasizes cultural design elements, merging local Swiss and Indonesian influences.
The "Pa'Kapuh Baka Banua" project is an architectural endeavor located in Albinnen, Switzerland, designed to address modern housing needs in a compact space. This micro-home targets young couples, emphasizing efficient use of resources while promoting community-centric living. The project articulates an integration of sustainable practices with innovative design solutions, ultimately offering a practical residential option in the Swiss Alps.

Architecturally, the project showcases a polyhedral form, merging traditional Swiss aesthetics with cultural influences drawn from Indonesian design elements. This distinct shape serves both functional and symbolic purposes, reflecting local heritage while optimizing environmental performance. The structure's layout maximizes utility, accommodating essential living spaces such as a sleeping area, a multifunctional living/work space, a compact kitchen, and sanitary facilities within a limited footprint.

Materials play a crucial role in the execution of this design. The use of aluminum frames ensures durability and stability, while concrete walls provide thermal mass to enhance energy efficiency. Large expanses of glass are incorporated for natural lighting, connecting the indoor spaces to the surrounding alpine landscape. Internally, wood paneling creates a warm atmosphere, balancing the modern exterior with a sense of comfort. The project also integrates renewable energy systems, utilizing solar panels and geothermal heating to minimize its ecological impact.

Sustainable design principles underpin the entirety of the "Pa'Kapuh Baka Banua" project. The selection of materials and construction techniques reflects a commitment to reducing energy consumption while encouraging a smaller ecological footprint. This focus is further amplified by the inclusion of ventilation mechanisms designed to optimize air flow and maintain indoor air quality.

The unique design approach in this project lies in its adaptability and space optimization. The multifunctional living area allows for various uses, fostering versatility in the inhabitants' daily activities. Additionally, the polyhedral form gives the structure an innovative aesthetic while enabling efficient rainwater management through its sloping roofs.

Reviewing the architectural plans, sections, and designs of the "Pa'Kapuh Baka Banua" will provide deeper insights into its design philosophies. The combination of cultural influences, sustainable practices, and functional layouts positions this project as a noteworthy contribution to contemporary architecture in alpine contexts.
