Panoramic Roof Terrace And Open Corridors Enhance Vineyard Experience

Project in-detail

With a panoramic roof terrace overlooking the vineyards and open corridors that function as a wine museum, the design creates a seamless blend of education and leisure in a modern accommodation setting.

The project located in Freixial de Cima embodies the idea of "Goût d’or," which translates to "Taste of Gold." This concept connects the narratives of wine and the land with the design and function of the space. Set within the scenic vineyards, the design enables visitors to engage with the unique character of the region while providing accommodation.

Roof Terrace

At the center of the design is a panoramic roof terrace that offers wide views of the surrounding vineyards. This elevated space serves as both a lookout point and an area for events, allowing guests to connect with the landscape. A water pond on the terrace functions as a natural skylight for the reception area below. This feature creates interesting patterns of light and shadow, adding definition to the lobby.

Circulation and Open Corridors

Open corridors connect the guest accommodations and play a dual role as pathways and exhibition spaces. This design encourages visitors to learn about local wines and fosters engagement with the cultural background of the area. The layout supports easy movement throughout the building, creating a sense of community among guests as they navigate the various spaces.

Guest Accommodation

The accommodation units consist of three separate modular blocks, which are arranged with gaps to enhance daylight and airflow. This spacing allows each room to benefit from natural light and outside views, integrating the qualities of the nearby vineyards. Each guest room features its own private terrace or yard, encouraging residents to enjoy the outdoors and realize a direct connection with the landscape.

Facilities and Integration

In addition to guest rooms, the design includes a restaurant, wellness center, and event venues, all thoughtfully placed within the site. This mixture of common and private areas reflects local customs while addressing the comfort needs of visitors. The design’s terraced layout creates clear pathways that guide movement, ensuring new structures fit well with the existing urban landscape.

The thoughtful arrangement of spaces draws in light and air, allowing visitors to appreciate the essence of Freixial de Cima while fostering a deeper connection with the land and its heritage.
