The Sunrise Guest Homes project is located at Tili Vini, a vineyard where the design celebrates the story of winemaking. This setting offers guests a way to connect with the land and the traditions of viniculture. The design promotes sustainability while encouraging interactions among visitors, creating an inviting atmosphere that blends functionality with the narrative of the vineyard.

Architectural Arrangement

The homes are carefully oriented to align with solar events, enhancing the relationship between the structures and the changing seasons. Bedrooms are positioned to face east, providing guests with views of the sunrise each morning. In the communal spaces, a central sundial and fire pit serve as focal points for gathering, allowing guests to share stories and connect with each other during evening hours watching the sunset.

Material Selection

The choice of materials in the design reflects the themes of winemaking and connection to nature. Each home is anchored by stone bases, which represent the bond between the vineyard and the earth. Aged oak slats are incorporated into the exterior design, mimicking the staves of wine barrels. This detail subtly links the architecture to the tradition of viniculture. Additionally, metal elements resemble barrel hoops and further strengthen this narrative.

Sustainable Practices

Sustainability is an important aspect of the guest homes. A structurally insulated panel (SIPS) system is used, along with spray foam insulation to improve energy efficiency. The roofs are equipped with solar panels that produce electricity, allowing the homes to generate their own power. Wind turbines supplement energy needs, showcasing a commitment to renewable sources. To manage water, permeable surfaces allow rain to soak into the ground, and gray water reuse systems help with irrigation.

Design Details

The architectural style of the Sunrise Guest Homes aligns closely with the natural surroundings and the vineyard's context. Each element is designed to balance utility and visual appeal. The fire pit area encourages social interaction, while the overall layout fosters a sense of community among guests. The buildings provide more than just shelter; they serve as part of the vineyard's story, inviting visitors to engage with the environment and its history.
