The Senses Food Court project is designed to connect nature, community, and a meaningful dining experience. Situated within the context of the Sansusi festival, the food court serves as a central gathering place for visitors. The design concept focuses on the idea of rhythm, encouraging movement and interaction among attendees in an engaging atmosphere.

Layout and Organization

The food court features three main elements: cubical eateries, a podium, and a dining area. This arrangement promotes a sense of comfort, while the rotation of the eateries around the podium invites visitors to engage with each other. The podium is more than just storage; it also serves as a communal area for dining and performances, creating a lively environment.

Architectural Aesthetics

The architectural design employs simple geometric shapes, mostly cubical forms with elevated corners. This straightforward structure allows for an open feel, making it easier for people to navigate the space. The combination of warm and cool colors adds visual appeal and helps create a welcoming atmosphere for all who visit.

Color and Lighting Design

A color palette transitions from yellowish hues to blue tones, with each eatery chosen for its unique color identity. This careful selection contributes to the playful character of the food court, reflecting the festival's vibrant energy. The lighting design takes cues from nature, using fixtures inspired by pine cones, which hang above the dining areas to create a warm and inviting glow during evening events.

Material Selection

Local wood is a prominent material that emphasizes sustainability and supports the community. This choice not only reduces the environmental footprint but also fosters a connection to the area. The design includes easy-to-construct elements, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic throughout the food court while maintaining efficient building practices.

The project highlights the dynamic interplay of light and space. Suspended light fixtures illuminate the areas where people gather, enhancing both the practical and aesthetic aspects of the dining experience.
