5 key facts about this project
01
Red tiled roof enhances traditional aesthetics while providing effective weather resistance.
02
Mud plaster walls contribute to natural insulation and historical authenticity.
03

05
Integration of local history honors the Tili Vini family and enriches the guest experience.

The Guest House design presents a thoughtful integration of various functionalities while promoting interaction and comfort among users. Located in a setting that enhances its connection to the landscape, the project focuses on the idea of thresholds, which allows for a smooth transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. Diverse areas, such as the reception, common spaces, and guest accommodations, work together to create an inviting experience for all visitors.

Reception Area and Common Spaces

The reception area serves as the main entry point, conveniently situated near the parking lot for easy access. This space greets visitors and fosters social interaction, featuring a wine cellar that emphasizes local culture. The layout is open and welcoming, encouraging movement and engagement among guests.

Guest Accommodation Levels

The design is organized across two levels, with Level 0 focusing on the reception and communal areas. This layout promotes a sense of community, allowing for wine tasting and informal gatherings. Level 1 includes additional common spaces alongside guest houses, featuring a communal kitchen and an outdoor terrace, encouraging both socialization and personal time.

Materiality and Structural Elements

A variety of materials contribute to the building's aesthetic and structural strength. The red tiled roof and mud plaster walls provide a warm exterior. Wooden window frames let in natural light, while the hardwood mezzanine floor adds durability and visual interest. Wooden stairs connect the levels seamlessly, and a stone foundation gives the structure stability and a sense of permanence.

Historical Context and Narrative

The design pays close attention to historical context, particularly relating to the Tili Vini family and the regional heritage. By maintaining elements of the existing structure, it honors the past while blending with modern needs. This method enriches the experience, inviting users to explore the narrative of the space while enjoying its various functions.

The project highlights thresholds that guide movement through thoughtfully arranged passages, enhancing users' awareness of both the interior and the surrounding nature. Each space is designed to connect people, inviting them to engage with their environment while moving from one area to another.
