5 key facts about this project
Templum Vini is set in a picturesque landscape that emphasizes the relationship between earth and water. Designed to be a wine tasting facility, the project integrates these elements to create an environment focused on sustainability and enhancing the visitor experience. The design concept prioritizes environmental comfort and well-being, allowing guests to connect with nature as they explore the site.
Site Integration
The design incorporates pathways that guide visitors through the extensive grounds, establishing a clear connection to the natural surroundings. Water serves as a main feature, directing movement and visually linking different areas while fostering a calm, reflective atmosphere. The layout features compact volumes that alternate between functional spaces and areas meant for meditation and relaxation.
Sustainability Focus
Sustainability is a major concern in the design. The facades are designed to capture rainwater, which is then reused for the irrigation system and the large swimming pool on the property. This strategy helps to reduce the ecological impact and illustrates a practical approach to resource management. A filtering and pumping system has been included to support the efficient use of water.
Thermal Performance
Rammed earth is a key material choice, used for its ability to regulate temperature effectively. This helps keep indoor spaces comfortable throughout the year. In summer, the design stays cool, while in winter, it remains warm. The presence of water adds another layer of comfort, contributing to cooling through evaporation and enhancing the environment during warmer months.
Spatial Organization
Guest accommodations are thoughtfully arranged to ensure privacy and maximize views of the surrounding landscape. These spaces are oriented to take advantage of the vistas, allowing visitors to engage more fully with nature. The design carefully balances communal and private areas, leading from social spaces to quiet retreats, offering a rich and varied experience.
At the center, a pool of water acts as a focal point, drawing attention and inviting interaction, while also enriching the sensory experience of traversing the landscape.
