Quinta do Monte d'Oiro is located in Estremadura, Alenquer, a region recognized for its favorable conditions for wine production. The estate’s high-end wine tasting room is the focal point of a design that aims to enhance the visitor experience while respecting the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The project blends functionality with aesthetics, allowing guests to appreciate the fine wines produced on the estate in an inviting setting.

Architectural Concept

The design fosters a connection between the indoor spaces and the outdoor environment. It seeks to create a flow that allows visitors to move easily between different areas, encouraging them to engage with both the wine and the natural surroundings. The intention is to develop a space that reflects the estate’s rich history and enhances the overall experience for those who come to learn about and taste the wines.

Spatial Organization

Inside, the structure organizes key areas such as the tasting room, Cucina, Cappella, Sala Conferenza, Catina, and Bottaia. The arrangement makes it easy for visitors to navigate through the different sections. Each space serves a specific purpose while contributing to the overall ambiance. The layout promotes interaction among guests, creating an inviting atmosphere that connects them more deeply with the wine-making process.

Materiality

Materials featured in the design include concrete and wood veneer. The concrete provides strength and a clean, modern look. Wood veneer adds warmth and comfort, shaping a welcoming interior. This choice of materials supports the design’s goal of blending with the natural environment, reflecting a commitment to both aesthetics and sustainability.

Large windows are a notable aspect of the design, allowing ample natural light to fill the tasting room. They also frame views of the lush landscape outside. This design feature invites the beauty of the outdoors in, enhancing the experience of wine tasting and reinforcing the connection to the estate’s picturesque setting.
